NCFC-NH Mailing List Guidelines and Official Policy

This page defines general guidelines and an official usage policy for the mailing list of the National Congress for Fathers and Children, New Hampshire chapter. This list is currently hosted on Yahoo! Groups. Click here to go to the list's summary page. Participation on this mailing list is subject to the guidelines and policy described below.

Guidelines

The NCFC-NH mailing list is unmoderated, and intended for general discussions related to our mission. It is not the place for off-topic discussions, personal attacks, or the promotion of unlawful activity. Participants are encouraged to post news articles related to men's and father's issues, plan activism projects, and other discussion aimed at promoting equal rights and opportunities for men. The Special Notices feature of the list is only to be used for the purpose of sending out official NCFC-NH activism projects and legislative announcements. If you find that the list traffic is too high, it is recommended that you change your settings on this group to Receive Special Notices Only so that you may keep up with official NCFC-NH activity without having to receive all of the list messages.

Policy

  1. The NCFC-NH mailing list shall be used solely and exclusively as a vehicle to promote our mission to preserve and encourage equal rights and opportunities for men, particularly fathers.

  2. Messages of a personal nature are to be directed to personal addresses only, not the mailing list.

  3. The Special Notices feature of the mailing list is only to be used for official NCFC-NH business and legislative announcements. Abuse or unauthorized use of this feature will result in a warning or immediate removal from the list, depending on the severity of the abuse.

  4. All messages shall be monitored to ensure a minimum level of dignity and respect for list members, for the mission of NCFC-NH, and for the public at large.

  5. Participation on our mailing lists is a privilege, not a right. A three-person review board shall have the right to warn list members about violations of our policy and, in the event of a majority vote, temporarily or permanently remove a subscriber from the mailing list.

  6. The three members of the review board shall consist of NCFC-NH members who will be appointed to the review board by the NCFC-NH executive board.

  7. Individuals who were removed by the review board may appeal their removal to a majority vote of members present at the following monthly NCFC-NH business meeting.

The official policy and guidelines described here are intended to balance the right of list members to express themselves with their responsibility to respect the mission of NCFC-NH and the dignity of other members. If you have suggestions on how we can improve this policy toward this end, please let us know.
